To handle HICAPS claims in GPM, ensure you have the latest HICAPS version installed. Currently, HICAPS is on version 4, so keeping both the GPM app and HICAPS updated is crucial. Please follow these steps :

 

Verify You Have the Latest Version of GPM Installed

1. Go to Help >> Check for updates



2. Ensure a pop-up window appears with the message, "The application is up to date." If this message does not appear, please visit the provided URL to download the latest version

Update HICAPS Version

To install or upgrade to HICAPS Connect 4, it is recommended to do so during non-peak hours at the front desk. The entire process takes approximately 5-10 minutes and must be completed on all computers with HICAPS Connect. Please read these instructions thoroughly before starting the upgrade process. After installing HICAPS Connect, you will also need to set the Terminal ID in GPM

1. Download the HICAPS Connect Version 4 installer by clicking the following link: HICAPS Connect 4.0.0.1

2. Save your work and close all programs as your computer will need to reboot during the installation process

3. If the installer detects an older version of HICAPS Connect, click OK to proceed

4. Reboot your computer as prompted to complete the uninstallation of the old version or to finalize the initial installation

5. After your computer restarts, the installer will automatically resume installing HICAPS Connect. Please review and accept the license agreement to proceed

6. During the installation, a popup may notify you that one of the components is already installed. Click Close to proceed with the installation

7. If you are updating from an older version, you will need to reboot one final time. After restarting, you will be prompted to review and accept the Terms of Use. Once accepted, HICAPS will be fully installed

To Verify a Successful Upgrade of HICAPS Connect

1. Ensure that the HICAPS Connect icon is visible in your taskbar or system tray

2. If the HICAPS Connect icon is not visible, please search for the application using your Windows search bar and click to open it

3. Check the color of your HICAPS Connect icon:

  • If it is yellow, no further action is required
  • If the icon is red, right-click the HICAPS Connect icon and select "Re-scan for HICAPS Terminals." If HICAPS Connect cannot find your terminal, please contact HICAPS Technical Support for further assistance
