  • The GDPR includes a right for individuals to have inaccurate personal data rectified, or completed if it is incomplete.

  • An individual can make a request for rectification verbally or in writing.

  • You have one calendar month to respond to a request.

  • In certain circumstances you can refuse a request for rectification.

  • This right is closely linked to the controller’s obligations under the accuracy principle of the GDPR (Article (5)(1)(d)).

Process

Gensolve has defined GPM to change client's data when requested and to notify clients when their information has been corrected. In this article, you will learn how to do so.

Steps

  1. Create a GDPR Right to Rectification event to record the client request and set a due date for action.

  2. Upload written request from client to Client Uploads tab.

  3. Optionally send Client template email confirming request.

  4. Go to Client Details screen, then dependent on the rules of your professional body (Health and Care Professionals Council or CSP, etc.) update the details as requested by the client.

  5. Send template email or letter to explain action taken.

  6. Complete the Todo action / event with any notes.
